As a precursor to the Easter weekend's round of fixtures NRL tag launched in its new slot on Thursday nights, 6.30 - 7.30pm, at Harvey Hadden and what a feast of footy!
First a Peter Wilson inspired dangerzone mauling was dished out - star 'box to box forward' Joe Shep were left chasing shadows and its sad to see how the years of taking 'D-taps' has taken it out of the rangey talisman.
The main event was some flowing Touch RL and whilst Morgan and Eagling impressed on debut it was left to rampaging try machine Ant Bullick to write his own headlines as he showed the type of form that made him the hot rookie in 2010.
Summing up Notts Community Rugby League Coach George Strachan said 'Yeah its pretty good fun chucking the ball about and that in the sun, I hope to see more down next week - its mixed and you have to be 14yrs+'

Good to see some new faces, though questions need to be asked about the absentees - the less talented Wilson brother, Wil Martin, "Lightweight" Page, Gabe and Reece (a bit like Ant and Dec in my mind - can anyone tell which is which?), Liam and "Basher" Bolstridge.
Prize given for the least plausible excuse...

Fizz, whilst perhaps more in need of a thorough season of Tag conditioning than anyone else was route-planning his bank holiday weekend travel to Kent and Brighton - that M25's a bugger you know, and there's 8 junctions of roadworks on the M1 South - 50mph all the way with average speed cameras....tsk!!

Sadly these are all plausible, particularly when you realise Liam means he was in the pub. If Bolstridge can be bothered to drag himself here with his "loose brain" excuse I sense an easy win. Meanwhile Greenpeace have promised to send one of their whale hosing teams if Liam or Fizz start to show signs of distress in hot weather...

Can someone expand on this 'loose brain' of Bolstridge's. Its the second time I've heard it. But not really any the wiser

Liam told me about it. I'm now waiting for Bolstridge to come forward and explain it to me before I say more, though it sounds a bit like Crick and the glass skeleton excuse to me.

Si
I feel I must take issue with your slanderous jibe at Crick jnr. Having worked extensively with the club stalwart over the past 4 years I can categorically state that his skeleton is actually made of inferior grade cardboard and thus he is unlikely to figure in any games this year in which the playing conditions could be described as 'mildly moist'
