This is one of my Golden Outlaws memories and i've not reminded Stew about it for at least 2 weeks so I thought i'd put it in this here nostalgia section .....
The story began with Stew taking the ball up and making a break sometime in 2001 (I think) ......... not just a break but a defence busting split with the field ahead. At the time Stew was a slender pacey winger and had open field with the try line begging, it was gonna be a beauty. His knees were pumping ...... only they were pumping too hard and too high - so high that he knocked the ball out of his hands and knocked on.
Absolute genius.

There are some details missing that develop this story.
1. It wasn't just a break it was an intercepted pass so there was no defence at all. 2. It wasn't just knocked on I managed to juggle it for at least 5m probably more before finally completing the knock on 3. It was against Rotherham in a pre season game, a team we had never beaten. 4. We lost not sure on the exact score it was something like 22-26 but I know for sure that a score under the posts and a kick would have won it
Not that anybody ever reminds me of this incident.
Cheers Crick

That's nearly as funny as some idiot dislocating their shoulder whilst showboating with a dive under the posts and landing awkwardly on the ball and missing about 6 weeks of rugby as a result. I can't remember who it was though
